Players got their first detailed look today at the upcoming crossover between Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40,000.
Arrowhead Game Studios revealed the Helldivers 2 x Warhammer 40,000: Castellan’s Creed Legendary Warbond on July 30. The collection arrives Aug. 12 with weapons, armor, vehicle patterns, and other items inspired by the Cadian Kasrkin of the Astra Militarum.
The crossover works well with Helldivers 2, a cooperative shooter in which small squads are regularly sent against overwhelming numbers of enemies. The Astra Militarum also relies on human soldiers, heavy weapons, discipline, and coordination while fighting threats much larger and more powerful than themselves.
The R/40-K Hot-Shot is a precision marksman rifle designed to remain effective during close encounters and at longer distances. It gives players a new primary weapon for targeting dangerous enemies before they can close in on the squad.

Players will also receive the P/40-K Bolt Pistol, a secondary weapon known for its stopping power and versatility. It provides another option when a primary weapon is empty, unavailable, or poorly suited for a nearby target.
The 40-K Meltagun Stratagem is intended for heavily armored enemies. It fires a short burst of intense thermal energy capable of burning through metal. Its limited reach will require players to move closer to their targets, making timing, positioning, and help from the rest of the squad important.
The G/40-K Meltamine gives players another way to deal with armored threats. The proximity-activated throwable can damage anything that gets too close, including enemies, teammates, or the player who placed it. Careful placement could help protect an objective, slow an approaching group, or cover a squad’s retreat.
Two armor sets are included in the Warbond. The TG-8 Sharpshooter is a medium armor set, while the TG-122 Demo-Trooper provides a heavier option for players who want additional protection.
Both sets come with the True Grit passive, which adds 20 points of weapon handling and increases support-weapon reload speed by 30 percent. Those benefits could be useful for players carrying equipment that is powerful but slower or more difficult to operate.

The Warbond also includes the Camo Cloak and City Fighter’s Resolve capes and matching player cards. Players can unlock the Still Standing title, along with Castellan’s Green patterns for the FRV, Exosuit, Shuttle, and Hellpod.
Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40,000 both place heavily armed soldiers in enormous battles against enemies that seem almost impossible to overcome. Powerful weapons, friendly-fire risks, and missions with little room for error are also a familiar part of both settings.
Rather than placing Helldivers in Space Marine armor, Castellan’s Creed draws from the Cadian Kasrkin. The Kasrkin are elite Astra Militarum soldiers known for their discipline, specialized equipment, and ability to take on dangerous assignments. Their gear fits more naturally with the appearance and role of the Helldivers than equipment designed for genetically enhanced Space Marines.
The crossover therefore feels connected to the world of Helldivers 2 rather than being limited to a group of cosmetic references. The new primary weapon, sidearm, Stratagem, throwable, and armor sets give players enough equipment to build a full Kasrkin-inspired loadout.
The Castellan’s Creed Legendary Warbond will be available Aug. 12 in Helldivers 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Players will need the base game and a paid purchase of Super Credits to obtain the Warbond. Game progression is also required to unlock its individual weapons, armor sets, patterns, and other rewards.
