T-Mobile customers will soon be able to get Xbox Game Pass through their wireless plans, giving gamers another way to access Microsoft’s subscription service without paying for it separately.
The partnership, announced Oct. 26 by Xbox, will launch in November as part of T-Mobile’s new T-Mix plans. Eligible customers will be able to choose between Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Premium, making this the first time Game Pass has been available through a wireless plan in the United States.
How T-Mobile’s New Plans Work
Unlike traditional phone plans that come with predetermined benefits, T-Mix allows customers to select the services they want through a system called “Picks.” These can be used for subscriptions such as Netflix, Hulu, Apple Music, YouTube Premium, and Xbox Game Pass.
According to T-Mobile’s announcement, the company will introduce three plans:
- T-Mix Standard: Starts at $55 per month for one line and includes one Pick.
- T-Mix More: Starts at $75 per month for one line and includes two Picks.
- T-Mix Loaded: Starts at $95 per month for one line and includes three Picks.
Prices require AutoPay and do not include taxes and fees.
What Xbox Game Pass Includes
Xbox Game Pass gives subscribers access to a library of games across supported devices, including Xbox consoles, PCs, and compatible smart TVs. The games and features available depend on whether a customer chooses Premium or Ultimate.
Game Pass Ultimate includes access to hundreds of games, select new releases on launch day, online console multiplayer, and additional gaming benefits. Premium provides a smaller game library, online multiplayer, and cloud gaming, with some new Xbox-published titles becoming available later.
Discounts for Military Members and Veterans
Military members and Veterans will also qualify for discounted T-Mix plans. T-Mobile confirmed that special pricing will be available for military families, Veterans, first responders, college students, and customers ages 55 and older. The company has not yet announced the exact discounted rates.
Customers will also be able to change their selected partner benefits up to four times a year during designated periods without switching wireless plans. Some benefits may have additional restrictions.
What Customers Should Know Before Switching
There are still a few unanswered questions. T-Mobile has not clearly detailed how many Picks each Game Pass subscription will require or which plans will qualify for each tier. The company also has not announced an exact November launch date.
Current Game Pass subscribers should check how the new benefit works with their existing memberships before making changes to avoid paying for duplicate subscriptions.
For Veterans and military families who already use T-Mobile, the partnership could provide another way to include gaming in their monthly wireless expenses. However, customers will need to compare the new plan prices with what they currently pay to determine whether switching makes financial sense.
